Interactive installation, 2007École Supérieure d’Art d’Aix-en-Provence
Spaces of Silence is an installation for a one viewer. In front of a screen as a white as the powerful surrounding noise, he finds himself face to face with a microphone that invite to communicate. The interaction is not required and puts the person in front of a choice : what silence dominates the other ? If he wishes to interact – speaking into the microphone, he is plunged into a silent darkness. if it doesn’t, it stays soaked in this deafening white mass. hear or listen to himself, being silent or making silence. Spaces of silence offers visitors a deletion in which there is nothing to see or hear. The installation is as the possibility of a liberating act to turn everything off, and face a void where everyone can gradually recover his senses, to see again.
